I'm in my happy place: out on the road with the The Gorge [progressive metal]. We are playing at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines tonight, which is a great venue (across from an awesome restaurant called Fongs). Tomorrow, we'll be in Minneapolis at Modist Brew.

There are different kinds of traveling. Touring is unique in that you don't have a lot of time to experience each city, but I love it for other reasons. It's beautiful to get out of your local scenery and be dumped into new scenarios with new people every day.

I'll also be playing in St. Louis on Sunday at The Judson House (3733 Washing Blvd) with The Steve Davis Super Band [post-bop jazz].
